2018 Principals Programme

STRENGTHENING THE CORE (STC)

A Two-Day Programme for School Principals

This year’s topic is…

Leadership of Communities:  a new way of talking
Powerful ways Leaders make an unmistakable impact on the life of the School

There’s the 20th century approach and there’s emerging a more powerful 21st century method. Whilst we are stuck in schools using adult learning and development approaches researchers refer to as 20th century, there is hope our schools can reframe and become truly 21st century in how they realise human potential. As leaders we just need to know what to focus on and how to make those changes.

As the complexity of educational work increases, the role of leader is shifting from managing people and resources, to orchestrating collaborative effort. What helps principals to make this shift?

What we have noticed that outstanding principals model five characteristics: buoyancy, a trusting disposition, courage, presence and a readiness to view the world as system connected.

Strengthening the Core is an opportunity to explore and develop these characteristics through challenging conversations with experienced colleagues. We look forward to the possibility of working with you, challenging you to think afresh and create new ways to grow your leadership influence.

InterLEAD will stage further Host School Seminars capturing key educational challenges current to the time.
