In this workshop, participants will delve deeply into Te Whāriki to determine priorities for children’s learning.
Need help getting started on your ‘local curriculum’? Then come along!
This workshop will make meaningful connections to:
- Explore and grow a deeper understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and the bicultural underpinnings of Te Whāriki.
- Consider what is an inclusive curriculum, being responsive to the needs, identities, languages, cultures, interests, strengths and aspirations of your learners and families.
- Designing rich opportunities and coherent pathways for all learners.
- Use internal evaluation to become more responsive to priorities, preferences and issues of your community and your people.
This will be a starting point for participants to take back to their teams and design together.
Understanding that this is a journey, means you can continue to challenge and evaluate your ideas, systems and process.
