Transitioning from the 2017 Standards to the revised 2026 Standards
Connecting to and socialising the new standards.
Embedding identity, belonging and growth.

A workshop for kaiako and leaders curious about what the revised Standards for the Teaching Profession mean for 2026 Professional Growth Cycles.

Join us for an interactive hui exploring Ngā Pātū o te Whare – The Wall of Identity, the guiding framework behind the revised 2026 Teaching Standards.

Together, we’ll journey through the four panels –

  • Tangata Whenua
  • Tangata Tiriti
  • Tagata o le Moana
  • Tangata Aramoana

discovering how these narratives can strengthen culturally grounded, identity-affirming practice.

Through storytelling, reflection, and collaboration, participants will:

  • Reconnect with the four values that guide Our Code
  • Explore The Wall of Identity as a tool for professional growth
  • Examine what makes a robust PGC
  • Summarise and socialise the revised 2026 Teaching Standards
  • Share practical ideas, tools, and systems for implementation

This workshop offers a timely opportunity to strengthen relationships within your team and prepare confidently for the 2026 transition – ensuring alignment with the requirements for gaining and maintaining teacher registration.

Venue: The Learning Barn, 93B Poplar St, Gleniti, Timaru
